I’m SO HUNGRY! And I did it to myself.

Right now I’m on a fat loss cut. Over the past 10 weeks, I’ve lost 13 pounds.

I’m at 13 percent body fat at the moment. I’m working on getting under 10%, closer to 8%.

That means I have about 9 pounds left to lose to get there. I have 9 weeks left to do it because at the end I’m doing a photo shoot.

I could keep going but at that point, it’ll be 5 months of being in a deficit. As a natural lifter, that much time in a deficit is going to be lowering testosterone, slowing my thyroid and causing my body to be in starvation mode.

Which leads to bigger muscle LOSS, poorer body composition and potential health consequences.

Dealing With Hunger

This all leads me to why I’m sharing this with you today.

When you’re on your own fat loss journey you’ll inevitably run into being hungry.

Dealing with hunger:

1) Your body will get used to less food and over time your stomach will need less food to fill up quicker (it took about 6 weeks for my body to get to this point though, the first 6 weeks were brutal). Also, your brain is getting strong hunger signals to eat but over time those will subside. So you won’t have the urge as strongly as you might feel now.

2) DON’T go too low in calories. Just eat in a slight deficit, lowering carbs is typically the best way to get there. Keep it consistent. Don’t starve one day and binge the next.

3) Eat high protein, higher than usual. I like eating a little above my body weight in grams of protein. I weigh about 180 so that means 200+ grams of protein a day. Helps ensure minimal muscle loss and the highest satiety.

4) Check your commitment. WHY are you trying to lose weight? Why does this even matter to you? You have to be committed to this, no dipping your toes in. Go all or nothing.

I hope that helps and if you’re still struggling to lose fat and build muscle then reach out to me now! Hire a coach. Invest in yourself.

I remember when I was younger I was so scared to spend any money on a coach or training program for myself. But now I spend lucratively on coaches and training. It’s well worth and even if I don’t stick with that coach long-term I still always learn something from them.
